CONFERENCE HACKS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
If you spend any time on social media these days, you may often see hacks. Previously, the term hack was used in a negative connotation. You think your computer has been hacked, or a hacker is someone with a less than reputable source of income. But a positive definition of the term is “an appropriate application of ingenuity. Whether quick and dirty or carefully crafted, you can’t help but admire the cleverness that went into it”. Our staff at CPCA contributed their own personal conference hacks to help you have the most success at conference.
CONCURRENT SESSION TRACKS & CMEs
Dynamic speakers and panel discussions will be offered in the following tracks, which are scheduled concurrently:
Be sure to prioritize your sessions and arrive early to guarantee your seat. Please know every session is set to fire code capacity. Once all seats are full, CPCA staff are required to close the session, and no additional attendees may enter until a seat becomes available. Turning away attendees at a popular session is the least desired task of CPCA staff. We often hear, “But this session is the entire reason why I came to the conference!” If that is the case, please plan accordingly and arrive early. No exceptions will be made! This is also why CPCA staff cannot allow you to stand in the back of the room or use a chair next to you to hold your bags. Make sure to store your belongings under your seat because all seats will fill up. We also encourage you to have a secondary session lined up in the event that your first choice is full.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
We know your time is valuable, and we know our conference is taking place during your work week. We also understand that there are times that you must set aside your plans for the conference to tend to matters back at home or the office. But it is our hope that you are able to schedule your day accordingly so you’re sure not to miss our exciting keynote speaker line-up! Updates and more information coming soon.
MEALS
We take great care in planning the menu for all of our events during conference week. Expanded continental breakfast and a full lunch is provided each day of the conference. We strive to accommodate many dietary preferences and reserve a percentage of all meals to be offered as vegetarian. If you have a dietary restriction, we will do our very best to accommodate your needs, but please have a back-up plan available and research nearby options and restaurants that better fit your needs if we are unable to accommodate your request.
ATTIRE
The dress code for conference attendance is slightly different than what you might wear for a job interview or other venues that require business professional attire. When you think conferences, think business casual. Remember, you are representing you. If you feel good and confident in what you are wearing you will be more likely to meaningfully engage and network.
Pro Tip: Sacramento temperature averages for October can range from a high of high 70’s – mid 80’s, while overnight lows fall in the low 50’s. Please wear layers inside the venue as we can’t accommodate everyone’s ideal temperature.

We’ll see you in Sacramento!
